On arrival in Chiang Rai in the Golden Triangle, transfer to your hotel. Meet your group of like-minded travelers and tour leader for welcome drinks and a briefing. Explore the Golden Triangle region on the way to an award-winning hilltop lodge overlooking Laos and the mighty Mekong. Take part in a batik class, run by your Hmong hosts before journeying to the border next morning fora slow boat down the tranquil Mekong. Float past traditional villages and rural scenery. Stay the night in the former trading post of Pakbeng, on the edge of the rugged Mekong.

Make your way to the Laos border to board your private boat for the cruise to Pakbeng town. Along the way enjoy some of the best scenery on the upper Mekong. Arrive in Pakbeng by late afternoon and walk through the local market to meet the local people and gain a glimpse into their everyday life.

Enjoy bathing and feeding elephants in a jungle setting, then cruise onwards to the Pak Ou Caves and its hundreds of Buddha statues. Glide in to beautiful Luang Prabang, a treasure-chest of architecture and culture, and your base for three nights. Explore highlight sites on foot, including the exquisite Royal Palace and the graceful Wat Mai and Xieng Thong temples. Take part in a leisurely game of petanque, and indulge in sunset mocktails in riverside temple grounds. Savor a delicious local noodle breakfast with a brew of French coffee, be calmed by the serene sight of monks collecting alms at dawn, and spend an evening taking part in bamboo weaving and in an interactive cooking class in a beautiful rural setting. Visit scenic Kuang Si Falls, and have ample free time to explore Luang Prabang's alleyways, alluring architecture, boutiques and cafes.

Fly to Vientiane. Visit the grand Patuxai monument, and the COPE Center to learn about the impact of Indochina's 'Secret War'. Sample a Lao coffee, explore gilded That Luang and Wat Sisaket and have some free time. In the evening, be blessed at a baci ceremony and listen to a traditional music performance over a delicious 'jaew' dinner in a local house.

Fly to Phnom Penh and transfer to your hotel for welcome drinks. Discover Phnom Penh's rich French colonial past on a cyclo ride and explore the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda. Reflect on the Pol Pot era at Tuol Sleng museum and the haunting Killing Fields. Visit the colorful Central Market and the Olympic Stadium before enjoying a sunset cruise on the Mekong.

Drive to Kampong Thom, and see traditional rural scenes of farmers driving oxen through paddy fields. Along the way discover a local silk farm and see traditional methods of weaving. Try the fresh fruit from local market sellers, or brave the local delicacy - fried spiders. Explore the ancient ruins of Sambour Prei Kuk, dating back to pre-Angkorian times.

Glide across Tonle Sap Lake by boat before arriving in Siem Reap. Walk through the jungle in darkness to see the sun rising over Angkor Wat, a sight you’ll never forget. Next, enjoy a local breakfast. Experience a unique monk blessing then visit tree-covered Ta Prohm. In the evening, you might like to see the unique Phare Circus, supporting Cambodia’s youth. Venture to remote Boeng Mealea temple, visit a fascinating landmine museum and a village producing palm sugar. Join your fellow travelers at a farewell dinner, and on your final day, enjoy free time until your departure airport transfer.

Fly from Vientiane to Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh and embrace the energy of this bustling city. Meet your new group of fellow travelers and Tour Leader (or local guide).
Take a fun cyclo ride through Phnom Penh's backstreets to see the city's highlights and Central Market. Continue to Tuol Sleng Museum and the Killing Fields memorial at Choeng Ek. In the afternoon, explore the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda before taking a stroll along the riverfront.
Drive through rural Cambodia to Kampong Thom, stopping in Skuon to try local delicacies such as sautéed spiders. Visit a local enterprise and learn the traditional techniques of silk production, and enjoy a delicious home-cooked lunch. Explore Sambor Prei Kuk, one of the oldest temple cities in Southeast Asia.
Continue driving to Siem Reap, stopping en route at Tonle Sap Lake to take a boat trip on the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. In Siem Reap, the evening is free for you to independently explore.
Venture to Angkor Wat by tuk-tuk prior to dawn and enter via the seldom-used East Gate entrance to marvel at the central spires as the sun rises. Continue to Angkor Thom and jungle-enveloped Ta Prohm, one of the most atmospheric of the Angkorian temples. The afternoon is free for you to explore Siem Reap at your own pace.
Travel through the countryside to Banteay Srei and Boeng Mealea. Stop at a small roadside village which makes palm sugar and visit the fascinating Aki Ra Landmine Museum. Celebrate a memorable vacation with a farewell dinner with your fellow travelers.
Transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
