On arrival in Yangon, transfer to your hotel then meet your tour leader and small group at a welcome dinner. Walk the winding streets to discover the best examples of British-colonial architecture. The Indian Quarter, Chinatown and the port area offer insights into local life. See the Shwedagon Pagoda at sunset.

Hotel: Summit Parkview

Fly to Bagan and explore Shwezigon Pagoda and the Ananda Temple. In the morning, visit a local village such as Minnathu for meaningful encounters. Visit the 12th century Dhammayazika Paya, and see handicrafts such as lacquerware being produced. End the day with a sunset view of Bagan.

Hotel: Thazin Garden

Transfer to Bagan jetty to board the Pandaw for your Irrawaddy cruise. In the afternoon, explore Pakokku by trishaw. Enjoy stops at a pottery village, see a school built using donations from previous Pandaw passengers, and learn about the region's cottage industries.

Accommodation: RV Orient Pandaw or RV Katha Pandaw

Disembark your boat in Mandalay, and visit the Jade Market. Then venture into the backstreets to witness cottage industries in action, such as the production of sugarcane candy.

Tour the Royal Palace, "world's largest book" and Shwe Nandaw Kyuang, with its intricate carvings. Visit a nunnery at Sagaing, and share lunch and discussion with the nuns. Wander along the 200-year-old teak U Bein Bridge, spanning 1.2 kilometers, and if time permits, stop at handicraft villages to interact with the artisans.

Hotel: Yadarnapon Dynasty

Fly to Heho and transfer to the Pindaya caves, filled with Buddha statues from the 18th and 19th century. Continue on to Kalaw and spend the afternoon at leisure.

Enjoy a day at an elephant camp. Venture through the forest to a river and small waterfall then help the mahouts wash and feed these majestic animals. Spend the afternoon exploring more with a local guide or planting trees to aid reforestation before returning to Kalaw.

Hotel: Pinle Hill resort

Visit a morning market before a fun train ride to Shwe Nyaung. Explore a nearby town before some free time. Spend a morning on Inle Lake, with stops to observe local fishing techniques and floating gardens.

Enjoy a visit to a local family for tea and discussion. Explore the Pa-oh village of In Dein on foot, and witness its ancient stupas. Visit a thriving morning market, the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda and see local craftsmen at work, with free time to explore.

Hotel: Inle resort

Fly to Yangon, and enjoy a free day, perhaps visiting some markets. Attend a farewell dinner before your airport transfer the next day. End Tour!
